The Union County Treasurer’s Department is responsible for collecting dispersing and investing County monies and maintaining records of numerous accounts. The Treasurer is also a voting member of the Salary Board and Retirement Board and also administers the Union County Tax Claim Bureau.
The Treasurer's Office, acting as the Union County Tax Claim Bureau, collects delinquent real estate taxes. Residential property owners electing to pay their current year school district real estate taxes (July billing) by installments must remit their first installment payment as specified on their school tax bill to the Union County Treasurer's Office by July 15th by mail or in person to the Union County Treasurer's Office. For information on non-installment payment of school real estate taxes, per capita taxes, municipal taxes, and county taxes, please see information on this website on Union County Tax Collection.
