The Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code (MPC) is the legal basis and enabling legislation for planning in the Commonwealth. It specifies the essential content and process for comprehensive plans and land use regulations, like zoning and subdivision ordinances. This course will discuss key provisions and related legal concepts, recent amendments and helpful suggestions for reading and interpreting the MPC. The format of the course will focus on frequent user questions and will be open to audience questions and interaction. Zoning officers, planning professionals, planning commissions, zoning hearing boards and elected officials are encouraged to attend as the session will cover a wide range of concepts across all experience levels. All participants will receive a copy of the MPC and will use it during the course.
