Green-Light-Go Grant applications being accepted

Please be aware that PennDOT is accepting applications until November 9th for the 2017 round of the Green Light-Go Funding Program. Applicable links are included below.

This grant program funds a variety of projects that improve safety and mobility by reducing congestion and enhancing the efficiency of existing traffic signals on state and local highways. Eligible projects include: traffic signal retiming, LED bulb replacement, detection upgrades, controller upgrades, adaptive signals, emergency preemption, study and removal of unwarranted signals, etc.

The 2017 Green Light-Go Program has up to $40 million available through a competitive application and reimbursement grant process. A minimum 20% match of the grant amount is required. Eligible project sponsors include counties, cities, boroughs, townships, towns, and metropolitan or rural planning organizations. Sponsors are strongly encouraged to work with their PennDOT District Traffic Unit representatives to define project scopes in a manner consistent with the program goals and requirements. A project scoping form has been developed (see Appendix III of the Program Guidelines) to assist in this process, and the PennDOT traffic signal contacts are identified in Appendix IV.
